Proper care following your new permanent eyeliner tattoo is important and required to achieve optimum results. Keep in mind that some intensity of color will be lost, and /or the color may heal unevenly. This is normal for permanent makeup procedures, especially after the initial application. This is the reason for the touch up appointment, to fill in any light areas, to go a little darker or thicker if desired, and to adjust shape or color if needed. This procedure is not considered completed until the touchup appointment has been performed.  Please read and follow the directions provided.

MOST IMPORTANT: We have created a wound so you must have clean hands before touching your new eyeliner. Avoid touching other than for cleaning them and applying ointment, be sure to thoroughly clean your hands before doing so. It is also a good idea to change out your pillowcase for a clean one before going to bed the first night to avoid any built up bacteria.

DO NOT: PICK, PEEL, OR SCRATCH the treated area as this could result in your color healing uneven, as well as the risk of scarring and infection.

CLEANING.  Use MicroTONIC after first 6 hours, then apply a VERY thin, light coat of ointment (ointment is not required where we have only done the lash lines). Use 2 times a day for the remaining of the healing process (3-5 days).  Use a very light touch cleansing your new eyeliner with a Qtip and dabbing motion.

AFTERCARE OINTMENT: (Winged or Smokey Eyeliner) Only use the Microbalm or EyeAid ointment I provide for you, nothing else.  Wait 15 minutes before applying ointment after getting the eyeliner wet. Never put ointment on a wet or damp tattoo. Always blot of any of the prior ointment off before applying new layer of ointment. Use SPARINGLY, just enough to moisten, then remove any excess; it should never look WET.  Allergic reaction is extremely rare but possible. If you notice any bumps or rash, or suspect an allergic reaction, stop using the ointment immediately, cleanse the area and contact me.  780-772-0799

SHOWERING: For 5 days do not take an exceptionally hot shower and if at all possible keep bathroom doors open if possible avoid causing a steam effect.  Do your best to keep your new eyeliner out of the water while you do your other shower stuff first.  At the very end of your shower wash your hair and rinse back away from your face. Wash your face either avoiding the new eyeliner as much as possible. Avoid shower spray directly on your face, but because it’s almost impossible to keep it completely dry, keep a clean towel nearby and dab dry as needed and as soon as you are out of the shower.

AVOID: For a minimum of 72 hours up to 5 days; pet grooming, gardening, dusting, or anything that causes dust, dirt and dander. For 3 days; No contact lenses. For 2 weeks; no lake or pool activities, horseback riding, camping or riding ATVs, chemicals, hot tubs, saunas, direct shower spray, hot water, salt water, chlorinated pools, lakes, or ponds, facials, peels, laser, or anything of that sort.

MAKEUP: No topical makeup on the eyes for a minimum of 5 days. Topical makeup is bacterial and your new eyeliner needs adequate time to heal to avoid irritation and/or infection. You may apply your makeup around the procedure area but avoid applying on the eyes. After any eyeliner procedure, please use a new mascara to avoid bacteria.  Do not use an eyelash curler for 2 weeks. For 4 weeks; no lash extensions, growth serums, perming, tinting, ect.

RELAX: Don’t worry about a thing.  It’s just a tattoo that will lighten, soften and heal in a matter of days. Complications are extremely rare.

IMPORTANT: We have created a wound so you must have clean hands before touching your new brows. Avoid touching other than for cleaning them and applying ointment, be sure to thoroughly clean your hands before doing so. It is also a good idea to change out your pillowcase for a clean one before going to bed the first night to avoid any built up bacteria.

FIRST HOURS: BLOTTING PROCEDURE. We have created a wound and all wounds weep body fluids (some will weep more and for a longer period than others). Blotting off these fluids and excess pigment is critical to a good result and optimum color retention. If these fluids are allowed remain on the tattooed area and accumulate, you will get heavier scabbing.  Heavy scabbing can pull out the pigment which will result in light spots and unevenness of color. Blot your new brows with a dry Kleenex or makeup pad every 15 minutes upon leaving the Studio. Continue until weeping has subsided. If you have eyebrow hair, please make sure you are getting beyond the hair and actually blotting the tattooed skin.

WASHING: Begin within 6 hours after your procedure then twice daily for 72 hours. If Microtonic Liquid has been provided to you, use this as a cleanser by itself on a makeup pad (no water/rinse needed). For additional comfort, keep microtonic in the fridge to chill before use. Pat dry. Wait 15 minutes before applying ointment after getting the procedure wet. Never put ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

AFTER 6 HRS OINTMENT: Only use the Microbalm ointment I provide for you, nothing else. For oilier skin types it should be used 6 hours post procedure for only 24 hours and then followed with application of MicroTonic for the remainder of the healing process. For drier skin types apply a VERY thin, light coat of ointment 2-3 times a day for the first 7 days of healing and anytime after to sooth itchiness.  Always blot of any of the prior ointment off before applying new layer of ointment. USE SPARINGLY, just enough to moisten and then remove any excess; it should never look WET.  Allergic reaction is extremely rare but possible. If you notice any bumps or rash, or suspect an allergic reaction, stop using the ointment immediately, cleanse the area and contact my studio.  780-772-0799

Wash your face either avoiding procedure area or over procedure area with a very light touch.  Avoid shower spray directly on your face, but because it’s almost impossible to keep it completely dry, keep a towel nearby and dab dry as needed and as soon as you are out of the shower.

For 10 Days Avoid lake, beach, camping activities, horseback or ATV riding, tweezing or waxing the eyebrows.  For 2 weeks Please do not expose your new procedures to chemicals, hot tubs, saunas, direct shower spray, hot water, salt water, chlorinated pools, lakes, or ponds.  Direct sun exposure and tanning beds should be avoided … no facials, peels, brow tints, or any type of face treatments.

FIRST 24 HOURS: REDUCE SWELLING- PRO TIP- Put your Membrane Microtonic and Lip Gel Pack in the FRIDGE when you get home ; once cold you can apply to a Microtonic to a makeup pad and let sit on your lips for relief and suppression of the swelling.
